What to Expect

It’s simple! You will be invited to lie down (or sit in a chair if it is uncomfortable) and
enjoy. You will remain fully clothed. Unless you have asked for Himalayan Bowls on
the body, your treatment will be a non-touch therapy, so you can relax in the
knowledge that your personal space will not be intruded upon.

If you are having 1-2-1 sessions, I will go through some questions before your
session starts and ask you to reflect on what your intention/focus for the session is.

We will then revisit this afterwards and you may be offered some gentle
inter-sessional tasks (such as gentle breathing/humming etc) to help you in your
process/maintain balance.

If you are joining me in a group Sound Bath Relaxation session, you will be invited to
just lie there and relax. That’s all! Oh and Sound Bath simply means that you are
washed over with Sound!

For a Sound Bath with reflection, you will be invited to join in a sharing session
should you wish to at the end.

How long is the session?
If you are coming for a 1-2-1 session your first appointment will be approx. 1hr 20
mins depending on how long the initial note taking takes. Each session after that will
be approx. 1 hour

Group Sound baths are approx. 45 mins to an hour.

Is there any reason why I couldn’t attend?
Sound Therapy is considered low risk however there are certain situations where a
discussion may need to be had ahead of your treatment:

  • Knowingly in your first trimester of pregnancy – although Sound is not
considered dangerous, it is common practice for all complimentary therapies
not to treat during this fragile stage of pregnancy. After the first Trimester –
Sound can be wonderfully relaxing for both mum and baby.
  • You currently have severe mental health challenges such as Schizophrenia,
severe clinical depression, suicidal thoughts, bipolar disorder or any other
serious mental health challenge. Please contact for further information.
  • Sound induced Epilepsy
  • Metal plates in the body – you may find that the sound creates a sympathetic resonance in the area, which may cause discomfort – it may not and we can discuss your treatment beforehand.
  • Pacemakers and Heart conditions – it is advisable to get confirmation from your GP that they are happy for you to attend. Many clients have enjoyed and benefitted from Sound Therapy but it is advisable just to check.
